ANKO (Andreas Kolstad, f. 2007) debuterer som artist på Mono-Log-labelet, og har nyleg gjeve ut sine to første songar: «Mother Not Mars» og «Lighthouse». Driven av engasjement for miljøet og ein brennande søken etter ei større meining med livet, ønsker Andreas å dela tankane sine med eit større publikum, i sjangeren alternativ pop.

«Mother Not Mars» handlar om å ikkje sjå vekk frå forvaltaransvaret me har for kloden vår, og gir uttrykk for dei kjenslene som oppstår når ein må erkjenna at det framleis er mange som ikkje bryr seg. «Lighthouse» dreier seg om å gje slepp på fortida og om å ønska forandring velkommen. Låta ber på ein meditativ tanke om at det alltid finst ei tryggheit i stormen, når verda, eigne tankar eller kva enn som omgir oss blir for overveldande. 

– Når eg komponerer, kjem det eg lagar naturleg. Det er det som blir skapt ut av ingenting som fascinerer meg mest og som eg er oppteken av. Alt har ein inspirasjon, men det er noko magisk med ein melodi som plutseleg berre blir skapt og som utviklar seg til å bli ei fullstendig låt. Ambisjonane mine er rett og slett å nå ut til eit publikum som likar min stil, og at musikken min skal vera genuin og ærleg, seier ANKO sjølv.

ANKO er dessutan deltakar i The Voice 2024 på TV2, som startar sendingane i januar.

ANKO (Andreas Kolstad, 17), is making his debut as a recording artist on the Mono-Log label with two new singles; Mother not Mars and Lighthouse. Motivated by his engagement for the environment and a passionate search for a deeper meaning in life, Andreas has a desire to share his ideas with a wider audience.

«Mother not Mars» is about not neglecting our entrusted stuardship of the planet, and the emotions that arise when realizing that many people do not really seem to care. «Lighthouse» explores the process of letting go of the past while welcoming change. The song centres around the thought that there is a safehaven in the middle of the storm, even as the world, our own thoughts, or whatever surrounds us seems overwhelming.

Under the artist moniker ANKO, you can expect music in the genre of alternative pop and folk.

«When I compose, what I create must come very naturally. It is the maifestation of something out of nothing that fascinates me the most and which has the focus of my attention. Everything has a point of inspiration. However, there is something magical about a melody that suddenly forms and that develops into a complete composition. My ambitions are simply to reach an audience who appreciates my style and that my music stays genuine and honest." 

Andreas Kolstad is also a participant on The Voice Norway, 2024, which starts broadcasting in January.
